Jennifer "Jen" Affleck is a main cast member in the Hulu reality television series, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. She is one of the more conservative members of MomTok, and pays her family bills through viral social media dances while caring for her children. She has a complicated relationship with her husband Zac, which becomes a topic of discussion for her friends.

In The Book of Revelations, Jen is struggling with her marriage to Zac and letting him back into her life after their separation. He is trying to better himself and deferred from medical school for one year until he can decide what he wants to do with his life. Jen, on the other hand, is more devoted to MomTok now and is struggling with her faith. She wants Zac needs to set things right with Demi and Jessi as well. She needs to find her own voice and prioritize herself in relationships. They decide to try ketamine therapy together and it helps bring them closer together. They hug tearfully, and she cries because she wants to be happy again. She had prayed to God for help in finding her person, and believes He led Jen to Zac. She asks him to meet with Demi and Jessi so they can squash their issues. He thinks that if Jessi and Demi are her friends, then it's important for the conversation to be had.

Meanwhile, MomTok debates letting Miranda McWhorter, one of the OGs of the group who was involved in the scandal, back into the group. Jen doesn't mind Miranda and doesn't see why, as women, they can't support a single mother. During Miranda's happy hour, she tells Whitney that none of MomTok were there for her after Vegas and ignored her texts asking for help.

301 Confessional-Jen

In The Book of Doubt, Jen is living in Arizona with Zac while he decides whether or not to pursue med school in a year. She is also attending therapy for her prenatal depression, having largely improved since leaving the show and MomTok for a mental health break. Her relationship with Zac is also improving and he supports her, though he's cautious about her return to Utah and the "toxic" girls. They are returning to Utah shortly so she and Zac can decide where to have their baby. Jen knows she has tough conversations to be had with the girls, especially Demi and Jessi. She wants an apology from them for the way they treated her.

In The Book of Fidelity, Jen and Zac return to Utah for their trial-stay before the baby. She is attending an MCo Beauty Event with Layla and Taylor, where they'll be ambassadors for the brand. She hasn't spoken to anyone except Taylor lately, so she's anxious to see how things play out.

In The Book of Demi, Jen shows Zac a new TikTok dance and they discuss her upcoming reunion with some of MomTok. He tells Jen about the issues between Jessi and Jordan, including her affair with Marciano. Jen is hurt that Jessi tore down her marriage when she had problems in her own marriage.

Vanderpump Villa[]

In MomToks and Mormons, Oh My!, Jen is the guest of honor at the villa, introduced as a prominent member of the influencers. She is reluctantly moving to Arizona for her husband, who is attending medical school. Her friends were stressed when they heard she was moving to Arizona with her husband, so this was her last hurrah. She hopes to have a good time with all of her girlfriends. The girls settle in and, at the welcome dinner, Jen encourages Layla to pursue her feelings for the bartender, Sam. She later attends the nightcap and is shocked by some of the questions asked. In the morning, Jen, Layla, Demi, and Jessi have a pasta making class with Stassi, which excites Jen. None of the MomTokers know how to cook, which surprises Stassi. Jen explains they're "new generation" moms.

Notes and Trivia[]

  • Jen is the only cast member whose surname is shown in her tag because of her repeated mention of her husbands relation to Ben Affleck.
  • Jen described herself as "the spicy one" of the group.[3]
  • Jen was born in Utah but raised in the Bay Area and moved back to Utah when she was fourteen. She self-identifies as having lived in the ghetto.[4]
  • Jen's mother is from Ecuador and moved to the United States at twenty-five. She was born Catholic and was becoming a partier when she found the missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons) and asked to baptized. She then moved to Utah and met Jen's father at BYU.[4]
  • Jen has two biological siblings, two adoptive siblings, and was raised surrounded by "over twenty" foster kids.[4]
  • Jen was initially offended by the title of the show, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, and tried to convince production to change it. Two other cast members agreed with her, but because the entire cast wasn't upset, they kept the title. She believes they didn't care about the title because they aren't Mormon and "agreed with the clickbait". She was very stressed about the reaction from Zac's family.[4]
    • She didn't think the show would have anything to do with religion or Mormonism, but instead, focus on MomTok in a similar way of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City where it's not the main thing.[4]
  • She went into labor with her and Zack's third child on June 27, 2025, while at a nail salon.[5] They announced her birth on July 2, 2025.[6]
  • Jen and Whitney competed in Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars. Jen was partnered with Jan Ravnick and placed 9th after her elimination in the 7th week.
